Spicy boar rub works great on pork butt and especially well on pork ribs

I love this wild life spicy boar rub. It gives a little heat, a little sweet, and a whole lot of yummy flavor. I made some baby back ribs over the weekend and use this for smoking my ribs. I think they might be the best ribs I've ever made. They added such a nice balance of heat and spice as well as complex savory flavors. This is such an excellent rub and it's very convenient so I don't have to make my own.

Sweet, smoky, salty, slightly tangy, great on any meat, but especially pork

I really liked this. Used this on a pork shoulder for pulled pork. You definitely get the smokey fruitiness of the paprika, the molasses sweetness of the brown sugar and the salt, but also the slightly less prominent flavors of onion, garlic and the slight heat of the tabasco powder with also includes distilled vinegar rather than being purely made with the powdered dried peppers. So it's got a little tang from that vinegar if tasted on it's own. I used apple cider vinegar as well when cooking the pork, so that vinegar in the rub is lost, but it's there. I didn't find it anywhere near where I would call spicy, but enough to give it a slight zip. No lingering tingle or heat, just enough to be felt or tasted, and then gone. Everyone's spice tolerances are different though. But it was flavorful and I can easily see working this into many a barbecued or smoked meat.

Very nice seasoning for meats of any kind, not just wild Boar!

Wildlife Seasonings Spicy Boar Sweet Hot Rub! The name alone could make you feel some spice. Honestly for me, it's more like a chicken rub but that's because it's my meat protein of choice lately more than anything.I prepared some boneless, skinless chicken breasts the way that I normally do for the pressure cooker. I cut each breast in half so that each half when done will be around 80 to 100 grams. Instead of my usual mix of spices and herbs, I shook a generous amount of spicy boar seasoning. Then I cooked as normal! It is really a nice fragrant, spicy blend that felt more salty than it actually is to me. I am on a low sodium diet so maybe I am sensitive. In any case it's really very good and I will enjoy using all of it.

Not too spicy not too sweet just right for ribs

I had a hankering for ribs here recently so I got them but wanted to try a different spice so I got this to try. It arrived just fine with no spills or anything. Getting it out it is in a standard shaker bottle. I took a little taste and it was about perfect for my heat tolerance. I coated the ribs and then threw them in my big easy. They came out tasting great and this spice was great for it.

Tastes good but won't wow you

The Spicy Boar Sweet Hot Rub by Wildlife Seasonings has a very strong smokey scent when you open the bottle. It smells spicier than it actually ends up tasting. This is not a spice that I would consider spicy by any means. Honestly, there wasn't even really a kick to it. I thought it was a decent spice and added a nice flavor, but it didn't particularly wow me. The brown sugar helped make a nice, caramelized coating on the meat and those little bits add nice flavor. I ended up pulling out some of my BBQ sauces and I think it paired really nicely with a pineapple habanero hot sauce that I have on hand.
